44 Tyne and Wear  [48 of 97]

Landmark 44, Ryhope, Tyne & Wear More industrial heritage. This is the Ryhope pumping station, where steam0driven pumps used to maintain the water supply. The water supply is now electrically pumped, but the Victorian steam engines still work and are run on Steaming Days during the summer. Why can't modern public works be built with a little style?
